“From lecture halls to ledgers — where learning gets real.”

March 2025 marked a turning point in my professional journey: I officially began my internship as a Finance Trainee at Kempinski Hotel San Lawrenz, a renowned 5-star property nestled on the tranquil island of Gozo. Transitioning from academic theories to the fast-paced reality of hotel operations has been both eye-opening and rewarding.

As part of the Finance Department, my main focus is on Accounts Payable — ensuring that supplier invoices are processed accurately, approved in a timely manner, and paid according to schedule. I'm learning how precision, consistency, and internal coordination are key to maintaining the hotel’s financial health and smooth day-to-day functioning.

Beyond the technical skills, this experience is sharpening my sense of responsibility and problem-solving. Every invoice I verify, every statement I reconcile, contributes to a broader understanding of how finance supports operations, supplier relations, and long-term profitability. It’s a daily learning curve that’s bringing me closer to the finance professional I aspire to become — someone who adds value behind the scenes, one transaction at a time.
